I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile! We have been super busy and now my summer is over : ( We have had a ton of fun the past couple weeks.

We took 10 of our friends up to Mom and Dad's house and had a blast. We swam, jet skied and went to a Restless Heart concert at Billy Bob's. Unfortunately we didn't take many pictures but everyone had a blast...thanks Mom and Dad! The next week Aaron's parents came for a visit. We had so much fun hanging out at our new house and visiting some Austin attractions. We only wish they lived closer. I had to report to school last week and I am super overwhelmed yet super ready for the kids to arrive.

This weekend we went to float the Comal River with friends for one last horah before summer is officially over. I love floating the river...it is soooo relaxing. Today Aaron took me to Mimi's (one of my favorites) for lunch and then IKEA to browse. It was a wonderful weekend : ) I have another week of meetings and workshops before "Meet the Teacher" on Friday! I am missing my little "Hearnites" this time of year but I am so excited to be a Hutto Hippo!!

Weekend at home

This weekend was very relaxing. We were actually home the whole weekend which was nice. Friday night we went to a cookout with our friends Jeff & Kari. It was a get-together for their bible study group and they were kind enough to invite Aaron and I. It was a lot of fun, we already knew some of the people but we also met some new ones. The group is made up of young married couples that meet twice a month. I know Jeff and Kari have enjoyed going and we are going to join them when they start up again in the fall. The highlight of the evening was when we played the newlywed game. Aaron and I (the newly-ist-wed) ended up winning but mainly because we got the bonus questions right!!
Saturday, a group of us headed out to Lake Granger to float and ride a Jet Ski. It was a VERY relaxing day! We took hotdogs to grill and then went to The Mercantile in Walburg to hang out after the lake.
Sunday we woke up late, barely made breakfast at The Monument and then did some work around the house. Aaron spent the day organizing the garage (I think our garage is the most organized on the street) and I helped him out. I love weekends when we get to stay home and hang out...even if we are organizing the garage.
This weekend Dad and Mom are hosting us and 10 of our friends in Azle. We are all very excited!! Check back for pictures of the upcoming weekend!

"Be Joyful ALWAYS, Pray continuously, give thanks in ALL circumstances"

I ran across this quote about 5 different times this week and I have really come to love it. I finally stopped to wonder if maybe it was a sign that I am not doing these things all the time. My new goal is to follow this daily. I think it is a great way to live and I thought I would share!

Have a wonderful weekend!

4th of July

We went to my parents house for 4th of July weekend and had so much fun! Saturday Greg, Lacey, Rory, Gma, Gpa, Aunt Terri, Uncle Steve and Britty all came over. It was good to see everyone. We spent the day in the pool and on the lake. Mom worked hard in the kitchen and we worked hard eating ALL day long! Greg, Lacey and Rory stayed Saturday night with us at Mom and Dad's house. It was so fun hanging out with them...especially Rory. I do believe we have the CUTEST and SWEETEST niece in the world. I LOVE spending time with her and I know Uncle Aaron does too. I posted some pictures (mainly of Rory) from the weekend and one adorable video of Rory and Papa J.

Home Improvement

Mom came down for a whole week!! We were so happy she came to visit and help around the house! We spent our days shopping for us and the house. Mom told Aaron not to worry, we won't shop so much every time she comes down...ha ha. We wanted to put hardware in our kitchen and our bathroom. Mom is a pro at this so she helped us out! She actually did all of them. My job was to screw them in. The house looks great! It's funny how something so small can make a big difference. Mom and I also painted our dresser because it didn't match our bedroom stuff. We stained it and then painted it again and now it looks like a brand new piece of furniture! Thursday, she helped hang some stuff in the house and then headed home. Thanks for all your help!!

Port A 2010

I know it has been awhile since the last blog. We didn't have Internet for a week and have been so busy unpacking and organizing. The week after school was out, we took a break from everything and went to Port Aransas for four days. Fourteen of us invaded Port Royal for a week in the sun. It was a blast. We spent everyday at the pool and made a few trips to the beach. We love getting together with this group of friends. We will all meet again when we head up to Azle to Mom and Dad's house for a concert at Billy Bob's and some more fun in the sun!

Well I am currently blogging from my classroom after school. We will not have internet for a week so the blogs will be minimal. I will try to post some new pictures soon. This week has been INSANE! We moved all day Saturday by ourselves...it was a long, hard day but we survived. I made Aaron promise me there would be NO fighting during the move...you know how moving a washing machine can cause some stress between people. We made it through with no fights, no injuries and no broken funiture or appliances!! YAY! Our house is not organized yet but it is coming along. I am almost finished in the kitchen and our goal is to have the main areas and our bedroom done by this weekend. As we unpack stuff I move stuff right back in....
This craziest part of this week has been moving my classroom. During my 2 short years of teaching I have acquired a TON of stuff. I think I will be finished tomorrow thanks to my 10 little elves. My kids have helped me a ton! I even kept some willing boys in from music today to help carry stuff to Mrs. Kozak's TIGHT car. I started to tear up today when I was packing up some of my stuff. We were having indoor recess because of the rain and we had the music on. Our theme song this year has been Michael Jackson's "We are the World" and my kids LOVE to sing to it. It was on today and they were all playing quietly and singing and it made me think about leaving them. My students here have such hard lives and I like to believe I am a positive influence and role model. I know teachers here will continue to love them but I like knowing that they get a hug each day and some words of encouragement.
This weekend I am heading up to Ft. Worth to see my family and drop of little miss Stella. Aaron and I are going to the beach Wednesday with a group of friends and Nana and Papa J are
going to watch our little one!

Last Wednesday was my first last day of school, some of my kids left me for the summer because they were 100% ready for second grade. We had a fun filled week with a pajama day, movie day (on the projector...they LOVE this) and finally a party day. I was doing ok until one of my kiddos read me a note she had written. She said she was so sad I was moving to Hutto because she was hoping I would be her second grade teacher. Then I had about 5 girls crying uncontrollably. It was hard saying goodbye to them and some of my kids from last year. I promised them I would come visit next year. The kids in Hearne have touched my heart and I will never forget them!! I still have 10 of my lovely children and I am enjoying my last 2 weeks with them.

My Mom came down Friday to help us with our garage sale. Love you Mom! We went out to eat at The Piano Bar (our favorite local restaurant) and then we headed home to price all of our junk. We woke up at 6 for the big sale and had garage sale fanatics waiting in the street. We encountered some interesting people and some very nice people...we were so excited to sell all of our junk. One person's trash is another person's treasure.

Aaron and Blake got to go to Ft. Worth for the Cubs Rangers game with my Dad. I think Dad planned this to get out of the garage sale! Just kidding Dad. Aaron had a blast and his Cubs even won. Mom and I went out to eat with Mrs. Alloway at Z Tejas because Tori was working that night. We had a lot of fun and even talked about our next mother-daughter vacay!

Sunday was Aaron's 28th birthday. I planned a small surprise get together. Some of our friends came over and we had Salt Lick BBQ, Cake and played some redneck golf. I will post pictures when we get to Hutto, I left the camera bag there..ooops.

This weekend is the BIG move...YAY!! We are so excited to officially be in our new house and out of our "dirty old rental."

Furniture and Fun!!!

Friday was field day at school. It was sooo much fun. I wore my basketball shorts, field day shirt and tennis shoes to school ready to compete. My class always wins all the games in PE so they were so excited about field day. There were so many games and the kids had a blast. I loved playing with my kiddos...they thought it was hilarious when I challenged them in the potato sack race and when they were able to soak their teacher! About 2:00 the rain came...it started as a sprinkle and then turned into a down pour! I managed to line my kids up and quickly walk into the school. We were all drenched!! A rain out wasn't in my lesson plans so I put Peter Pan on the projector and we chilled out! It was a great day!!

Friday night we met friends at our fave little Mexican restaurant for dinner. After we ate, we went to our house for some Pictionary and Dominoes. Saturday morning Aaron woke up early to meet the guys for golf in Taylor. He loves the course because it has nine holes and the beers are only $1.50!!! I think the beer is his favorite part. They ended up playing 27 holes; meanwhile, the girls and I went out for lunch and shopping!! We all went out for dinner and then music in Walburg at the Mercantile!

It was a great weekend!
Oh and the best part of the weekend was when our kitchen table and ottoman was FINALLY delivered!!! YAY!!!!!!! Have a great week!!
